Contact this bench
How to reach The Overhead Bench, what to send with a correction, and what this desk cannot answer.
The bench reads its mail at contact@garage-door-openers.com. Write in English and put the work order number in the subject line if your message is about an existing order.
A correction
Send the address of the work order, the sentence you believe is wrong, and the source that settles it. A named standard, an installation instruction sheet or a service manual is enough. A forum post, a product listing or a video is not, because none of them can be checked against a fixed text.
A work order that is corrected is republished with a new checked-on date. The correction is not hidden: the sentence is rewritten and the date moves.
A question
The bench answers questions about how a door, an operator or a safety device is supposed to behave, and it points to the standard or the instruction that says so. It does not diagnose a specific door from a description, does not price a repair and does not recommend an installer or a brand.
What the bench cannot do
This desk cannot tell you whether the spring above your door is about to break. That question is answered by looking at the door, and it belongs to a trained technician. If the door will not stay in place, if a cable is off a drum, if you hear a bang from above the opening or if the door drops faster than a person walks, stop using the door and call a technician rather than writing to a website.
